| The traditional handicraft villages are arranged by areas of production. Each house in the are aims to: + Showcase live production, allowing visitors to directly take part in the process. + Display and sell products directly to visitors The products introduced and traded in the traditional handicraft villages include: 1/ Van Phuc silk village 2/ Precious stone paintings village 3/ Phu Lang ceramic village 4/ Gemstones, gold and precious metals processing village 5/ Rattan products making village 6/ Porcelain village 7/ Wood sculpture village 8/ Bronze casting village 9/ Dao tribe brocade-dying village 10/ Thai tribe brocade weaving village 11/ Fine art bag village 12/ Wooden mosaic village 13/ Embroidery village 14/ Immitation antique village The villages are organized with respect to: a/ Preserving old architecture of Vietnamese villages, meaning that the houses in the villages are those dated back to late XIX and early XX centuries and bought from their respective owners. b/ Preserving traditional man-made trade. Each village consists of a processing area from materials to finished products and a display area for its products. c/ The garden and interiors of each village characterizes itself as in late XIX and early XX centuries’ settings. d/ The villages has highlights such as banyan trees, wells, village and temple. The traditional handicraft village areas consists of the followings: + Village temple: The village temple is a XIX century house with an area of 440 m2, showing and trading products of its respective trade village. A front yard of 2,000 m2 which acts as a stage for traditional performances. There are water puppet shows – a cultural world heritage - every night. The village temple will also represent community activities of a typical Vietnamese village with village meeting, Cheo performance, Quan Ho (folk) songs etc …. + Floating temple: With a stand for 230 spectators, it is a performance stage for Vietnam’s special water puppet shows – a cultural world heritage. + Court yard: 2,000 m2 of ground which acts as a stage for traditional performances and open shows. + Puppet theatre: with regular puppet shows for domestic and international audience. |
